Stan Utley was selected by his peers as the No. 1 Golf Instructor in Arizona and the No. 14 ranked instructor in the country according to Golf Digest’s 2013/2014 The Best Teachers in your State and in the 50 Best Teacher rankings respectively. The rankings were determined by a poll given out to more than 1,200 golf instructors, who each vote for whom they believe are the top instructors across the nation.
It’s a great feeling to know my fellow teaching professionals think that highly of my teaching style and philosophy,” said Utley. “It reinforces my passion for what I do and I’m thankful everyday that I get to do something I enjoy so much.
Stan Utley lives in Scottsdale, AZ and plays out of Grayhawk Golf Club and is a PGA TOUR player. Upon graduating from the University of Missouri in 1984, where he was a three-time All-Big Eight selection and two-time All-American, Utley turned pro and joined the PGA TOUR. Utley has one PGA TOUR victory at the 1989 Chattanooga Classic and holds a PGA TOUR record for fewest putts in nine holes with six at the 2002 Air Canada Championship.
Currently, Utley focuses most of his time teaching. His list of students includes Scott Piercy, Bill Haas, Jay Haas, Darren Clarke, Danielle Kang, Paige MacKenzie and many more. Utley has also written four instructional books: The Art of Putting; The Art of the Short Game; The Art of Scoring; and, The Art of the Swing. Utley’s newest venture is Stan University, a subscription-based golf video instruction website.
